onstage and off. You can get involved in many ways with the group. You
can audition for shows -- see the audition notices
below for times and requirements for upcoming shows -- or you can volunteer
for various jobs backstage. If you're interested
in participating in any of these important jobs, give us a call at 891-8117.
Upcoming Auditions
Children of Eden
Music and Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (composer of Wicked)
Book by John Caird (author of Les Miserables)
Children of Eden is an epic musical on a grand scale, based on the Book of Genesis. In the first Act, we are told the story of Adam and Eve, and Cain and Abel. In the second Act, we see the story of Noah and the Flood. This presentation transcends cultural differences and reaches a universal appeal, in showcasing the challenges and successes of families, of parents and children, of generations to generations. With incredible music and an appeal for all ages, Children of Eden has grown into an enormously popular show worldwide for regional and community theatre despite its humble beginnings (a brief run on London's West End in 1991 and no Broadway debut to date) and Caledonia Community Players are proud and fortunate to conclude the 2009-2010 season with a show of this caliber.

Backstage
Set crews
Each
show has different requirements for stage hands and set crews. Most of
them require at least a stage manager and some folks to help construct
and paint the various set pieces. Others require stage hands to move set
pieces, set props, and raise and lower drops.

Makeup crews
Our
makeup director creates the makeup design and hairstyles for each show
and then manages the makeup crew for each performance. Our cast is expected
to do their own basic stage makeup (don't worry, we'll teach you how) but
more elaborate makeup effects are done by various makeup artists (depending
on the show). If you'd like to be part of the makeup crew, let us know.

Costumes
Our Costume Designer for CCP works with the director to
design the look of the show--the colors, the styles, and so on--and then
finds or makes the required costumes. [ Gallery
