based
on The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
dramatized by
Markland Taylor
This
version of Tolkien's classic tale is written for a small cast and for live
theatre. The Hobbit is Mister Bilbo Baggins, who finds himself unexpectedly
included in a quest to recover the treasure of the ancient dwarves. Along
the way, Bilbo and his companions encounter Trolls, Goblins, giant spiders,
Elves, and eventually the mighty dragon who has stolen the treasure. This
tale is the precursor to the Lord of the Rings books.
